In India it is appropriate to use the Namaste gesture when greeting colleagues. Bring both hands together and center in front of your chest. Make a small motion to bow while saying Namaste. Namaste is recognizing we are all equal.The divine in me bows to the divine in you. A professor once told our counseling class, “You Are Your Patient.” Namaste.
It was my first session back with my client after about a year or so. She had completed her divorce and was upset that she just had a fight with her ex-husband. She could feel her blood pressure rising in my office as she spoke of her fight and was clearly suffering over her reaction. What is the root cause of suffering?

Research shows that external factors have very little impact on our overall happiness. Our beauty, income, education and even health do not influence our levels of happiness. A major catastrophic bad event also has very little impact on our overall happiness.
