My Mommy's Getting Married
A New Book by Pamela Chambers

By 2010, stepfamilies will be the most prevalent type of family in America. Stepfamilies are becoming mainstream in today's culture. Parents and children alike are confused about their roles in a "blended family". Stepfamilies don't blend but compartmentalize.

We do not have a cultural norm for stepfamilies which leaves the family members confused and anxious. If you're like most stepfamilies, you are hoping that your new family will immediately provide you with all the love and support you have been missing. You hope that your stepchildren will love you right from the start. These are painful fantasies to relinquish. It turns out that people who know more about stepfamily life actually do the best. This book is just the beginning on how to foster happier times in the growth.
